Tentang Saya (About Me)

Dr. Abdullah is a senior lecturer at department of Civil Engineering of Syiah Kuala University. He received his Bachelor Degree from the same department in 1988. After completed his Master Degree from the National University of Singapore in 1993, in the department of Civil Engineering, He obtained his Doctoral Degree from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, in 2001. Then, he was rewarded as a Japan Society for Promotion of Science (JSPS) Postdoctoral Fellow at the same institute by the Ministry of Education and Culture (Monkagabusho) Japan from 2001 to 2003, and work as Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore from 2003 to 2004.

Back to Syiah Kuala University in 2005, Dr. Abdullah started research on the development of lightweight concrete. Based on his research result, several applications has been implemented these include: BATAFOAM (lightweight aerated concrete block) in 2006, precast lightweight concrete panel named BeRi-C in 2011, and precast lightweight slab for bridges and building floors. These implimentation were financed by the local District Goverment of Aceh Province. At present, the precast panel BeRi-C house being implemented commercially.

At present, Dr. Abdullah has research interest on: Reinforced Concrete Structures, Retrofitting, Ferrocement, Lightweight Concrete, and Lowcost Housing.
