Alfi Rahman currently works as a lecturer at Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of Syiah Kuala University and a researcher at the Tsunami and Disaster Mitigation Research Center (TDMRC) of Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh, Indonesia. He awarded a Doctoral degree from Tohoku University, Japan (2018) in Human Security and Society Program, Graduate School of International Cultural Studies. His research topic areas are Knowledge Management for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Indigenous Knowledge for DRR, Disaster Policy, Disaster Education, Disaster Risk Communication.
