I am a geologist born in Aceh. My journey toward being a geologist started first when I was graduated from high school and being admitted at Syiah Kuala University in 1990 majoring hysics at the same time I was elected to represent Aceh for Yout Exchnge Program to Canada under Canada World Youth. During that time, I stayed at Port Alberni, Vancouver, Canada. After the CWY program was completted I continued to finish my study until I graduated in 1996. In 1997, I pursued my graduate master programin Geophysics and Meteorology (GM), ITB concentrated on Oseanography and completed in 2000. In 2006, I continued my study by taking PhD program at Texas A&M University in Geology and Geophysics concentrated Geomorphology and Environment funded by FULBRIGHT scholarship.
During my stay in America, I have worked in both academic as an undergrade lecturer in Geology at Texas A&M University and work professionally as researcher in IODP (Integrated Ocean Drilling Program) and AAPG-IBA (American Association of Petroleum Geology – Imperial Barrel Analysis) and consultant in oil and gas industry. As a PhD in geology focusing in energy, geomorphology and Environment, I have worked at Syiah Kuala Universitysince 1999. Academicly, I am a member of Geology Society of America (GSA), American Geophysical Union (AGU) and American Association of Petroleum Geology (AAPG).
