Tentang Saya (About Me)

Dr. Rita Hayati, SP., M. Si, was born in Banda Aceh on January 9, 1971. In 1990 he was accepted to the Agricultural Faculty of Syiah Kuala University majoring in Agricultural Cultivation of Agronomy Studies and 1994 completed it in 1994. In 1998 he was accepted as Staff Lecturer remains in the Department of Agricultural Cultivation in Agronomy Studies Program of Syiah Kuala University. Then in 1999 continued the Master's program at the Bogor Agricultural Institute on Post-Harvest Technology Studies Program and continued with S3 education at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in Food Science Program and in 2007 completed the Doctoral Program in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. After completing S3, the application of science is more emphasized on Post Harvest Science technology, this is indicated by research activities and dedication. The development of post-harvest science for the community is also conducted by conducting trainings, such as Post-Harvest Chill Management in Farmers Group in North Aceh in cooperation with Bank Indonesia. A special field of research research is Water Isotherm Sorption which can be developed and applied to all agricultural products. Starting in 2013 researchers focused on post-harvest research for upland rice commodities. The results of research in determining storage models in upland rice are the basis of information for further rice research. Currently researchers are researching rice produced from breeding programs using gamma ray irradiation techniques.



Since 2013 studies have been carried out and have been produced on ongoing rice studies, this is shown in the publications that have been produced by researchers namely: Physicochemical Study and Organoleptic of Aceh's Local Rice (Oryza sativa L.) Mutant M3 As a Result of Irradiation of Gamma Ray, quality of rice (Oryza sativa L.) Aceh local M6 mutant strain with conventional and organic cultivation, Rice Quality (Oryza sativa L.) M4 Mutant Gamma ray irradiation results, Rice Quality Study (Oryza sativa L.) Irradiation Results Gamma rays on Genotype M6, rice quality studies (Oryza sativa L.) gamma ray irradiation results, Quality tests of physical and chemical properties in rice (Oryza sativa L.) result of gamma side irradiation on genotype M5 and Rice Quality (Oryza sativa L .) M7 genotype resulting from gamma ray irradiation.



Research on rice continues because rice genotypes have been produced until M9, so researchers will continue this research to produce local Acehnese rice specifically consumed by Acehnese people with diabetes mellitus and make local Acehnese rice host and popular products in our community in terms of physical appearance and flavor.



Researchers have also published and promoted the results of their research through national and international seminars, namely the Effect of Secondary Bound Moisture Content on Storage in Four Assembled Gogo Rice Varieties, Chemical Characteristics of Rice (Oryza sativa L.) Aceh Local M6 Mutant Strains resulting from irradiation gamma rays, sensory evaluation with descriptive Method on Aceh Local Rice (Oryza sativa L.) mutant M6 Using Gamma-ray irradiation and the quality of Aceh's local rice resulting from gamma ray irradiation.



In addition to conducting research, researchers also carried out community service that was devoted to Aceh Local Produl, including the Diversification of Aceh Traditional Cake Made from Rosella Flour (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) by the Family Welfare Improvement Group (PKK) of Beusenang Hatee, Keuramat District, Banda Aceh, IbM Business Group Preservation and processing of syringe typical Aceh, IbM Janeng Processing Business Group as a Local Food Source of Aceh and Ibm in Efforts to Utilize and Increase the Value Added of Suweg Bulbs as an alternative.



In 2019 and 2020 researchers focused rice research on the study of water sorption isotherms and hysterical phenomena on the physical and chemical properties or behavior of rice and rice resulting from gamma ray irradiation for their storage processes wet basis and dry basis.



Books that have been produced by researchers are Nutrition and Food, Food Crop Management, Agricultural Product Processing Technology, Post Harvest Technology, Biochemistry and Vegetable Crop Management.
