Suhendrayatna, Vice Director for Academic Affair of Graduate School, Syiah Kuala University (2015-2019) graduated Bachelor degree at Chemical Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering Syiah Kuala University in 1993 majored in Chemical Engineering. In 1996 till 2001 pursued advanced degree at Kagoshima University, Japan and obtained master degree in 1998 and Ph.D in 2001 in field of applied chemistry and chemical engineering, accordingly. Interested researches focused are environmental and chemical engineering, especially biotransformation of heavy metals.
His career began in 1993 as a lecturer of Chemical Engineering Department. During his carrier in Syiah Kuala University, he experienced in being as a Head of Unit Operation Laboratory (1993-1996), Secretary of HEDS-JICA Project (1994-1996), Vice Director of TPSDP Project (2002-2008), Head of Monitoring and Evaluation (2003-2006). In December 19, 2006, he established the Quality Assurance Unit (BJM) of Syiah Kuala University and leads this unit until the end of December 2014. For his outstanding achievements in the academic field, the Rector awarded him as the Best Lecturer of Syiah Kuala University 2011 and University Quality Award 2015.
Currently, he is serving his time as a vice director for academic affair of graduate school and as an assessor BAN-PT. He is also serving as an advisor to the Aceh Provincial Environment and Forestry Office. Research, seminar, and trainings are also a part of his routine activities now.
